Hi!

I am Guan, a self-taught artist based in China. I started painting with gouache in 2020 and have been exploring my artistic style ever since.

Ideally I would’ve been a translator or interpreter because that was my teenage dream. But I was not a great student, and, well, AI is taking over so I would’ve been sacked real quick even if I got a job as a translator anyway:< But now I’m self-employed. No one can sack me now!

It was not in my plan to become an artist though. During Covid, studying from home allowed me more time for my hobby. And that was how I drifted away from my teenage dream and back to my childhood dream. Have you watched the sitcom Friends? If I were Ross, art would be my Rachel. I was married to languages(Carol) shortly, but art would always be the love of my life.
